Former Chamber President Rebecca Stone Arrested for Theft

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Rebecca Stone, the former President and CEO of the Forsyth-Monroe Chamber of Commerce, was arrested for theft on Wednesday, as confirmed by the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office.

Arrest warrants were issued for Stone on October 23, related to unauthorized purchases made with a Chamber Endeavor Visa card. According to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, the card was used for non-business-related transactions.

The investigation was initiated on September 11, following a request from the Board of Directors of the Monroe County Chamber of Commerce for the sheriff’s office to look into the matter.

Stone faces eight counts of theft by taking and has voluntarily surrendered to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office.
