Former Cash Management Employee Arrested for Stealing Rs 10 Lakh

A former employee of a cash management company has been arrested for allegedly stealing Rs 10 lakh meant to be transported to bank ATMs. The accused, Johnny Kumar (24), a resident of Khoda, reportedly committed the theft to fund his aspirations of becoming a musician.

On Wednesday, the police received a complaint from the cash management firm, which reported that a tray containing Rs 10 lakh in cash, intended for ATM replenishment, had been stolen. Within 24 hours, the police traced the crime back to Kumar, who had worked for the company until September of the previous year.

Additional DCP Manish Kumar Mishra confirmed that Kumar was arrested swiftly following the investigation. An FIR was filed against him under sections 305A (theft in a dwelling, transportation, or place of worship) and 317(2) (stolen property) of the BNS.

During the investigation, it was revealed that Kumar operated a YouTube channel under the name ‘JD Dakshvanshi,’ where he had uploaded a popular song. Kumar had hoped to create more videos and eventually move to Mumbai to pursue a career in the music industry. However, his financial troubles were exacerbated by strained family relationships after he married his wife against their wishes. Police suggested that Kumar’s desire to fund his music career played a significant role in his decision to commit the theft.
