n a major drug bust, JJ Nagar Police arrested five youth for allegedly possessing psychotropic substances including Lysergic acid diethylamide (LSD) stamps, MDMA tablets, and ganja for sale. The arrests followed a tip-off, prompting a special police team to conduct a raid on Pari Salai on Sunday evening.
The first arrest was made of Karthikeyan Ramkumar (21) from JJ Nagar, who was found in possession of 17 LSD stamps and three grams of OG Kush (a type of marijuana). During interrogation, Karthikeyan confessed, leading to the arrest of Aravindh Balaji (20) from Mandaveli, Vatshal (21) from Guduvanchery, Arooni Ajithkumar (20) from Maraimalai Nagar, and Thrisun Sampath (20) from Maraimalai Nagar.
From the other suspects, police seized an additional 94 LSD stamps, 48 MDMA tablets, 700 grams of ganja, and five mobile phones. The total seizure is valued at over Rs100,000.
The arrested individuals have been charged with drug possession and trafficking. Investigations are ongoing to uncover the source of the drugs and their distribution network in Chennai.
