Five men have been jailed after police uncovered a network of properties being used to grow cannabis. The operation led to the discovery of more than 200 cannabis plants across multiple properties, with a total value of £162,000.
In September, officers acting on a tip-off raided a property on Grosvenor Road in Rugby, where they discovered over 80 cannabis plants in various stages of growth across three bedrooms. Three men were arrested at the scene.
Further investigation revealed that the suspects had been operating from multiple locations, including a flat in Bedford Street, Coventry, where officers found £15,000 in cash. The discovery led to the identification of another property in Coventry, where 32 mature cannabis plants were drying in the loft.
Additional evidence from phone analysis linked one of the suspects to multiple visits to Richmond Street in Coventry, where another 119 cannabis plants were found.
The defendants involved in the operation were sentenced after pleading guilty to charges related to cannabis production and possession. The sentences ranged from three months to one year.
The Defendants and Their Sentences:
Miklovan Myrtaj, 33 (Bedford Street, Coventry): Jailed for 58 weeks for cannabis production.
Rexhino Myrtaj, 27 (Bedford Street, Coventry): Jailed for 12 months for cannabis production and possession of cocaine.
