Five Arrested in Connection with Firozabad BSP Leader’s Murder

On Monday, Firozabad police arrested five people in connection with the murder of Pappu Kushwaha, a local BSP leader and former Zila Panchayat member. SP City Ravi Shankar Prasad confirmed that the 50-year-old victim was stabbed and shot while riding his motorcycle through Mohammadabad village under the jurisdiction of Tundla police station on Saturday.

Following the incident, a case was filed by Pappu Kushwaha’s son, Prince, who named seven suspects in the murder complaint. The accused were charged under Section 103(1) (murder) and other relevant sections. Acting on intelligence, the Tundla police and the SOG team surrounded the suspects hiding in the ruins of a water park on Sunday. Police arrested Hrithik (17), Pankaj (16 and a half), Sachin (17), and Mukul (18) on the spot. Another suspect, Ankit (18), attempted to flee and opened fire on the police, but he was shot in the leg during a retaliatory firing and was taken to the Government Trauma Centre.

The investigation revealed that the motive for the murder was tied to a revenge plot from nine years ago. Subhash Kushwaha, a relative, had been murdered in the village, and Pankaj, his son, allegedly conspired to kill Vinod Kushwaha and his son, who were implicated in Subhash’s murder.

After completing legal formalities, the adult suspects were sent to jail, while the minors were sent to a juvenile justice centre, as confirmed by SP Ravi Shankar Prasad.

The investigation continues as police work to bring justice to the family of Pappu Kushwaha.
