Five Additional Suspects Arrested in Connection with St. Johnsbury Police Shooting

ST. JOHNSBURY, VT — Five individuals have been arrested in connection with the December 13, 2024 shooting of St. Johnsbury Police Department Captain Jason Gray. The arrest of these suspects comes as part of an ongoing investigation into the incident and efforts to capture suspect Scott Mason.

Mason, who had been on the run following the shooting, was apprehended on December 15, 2024, in a neighboring house to where the shooting occurred. Mason, who is facing charges for the shooting, also faces unrelated charges for failing to appear on 26 counts of forgery.

The following individuals were arrested on Friday, January 17, 2025, in connection to aiding Mason and the shooting incident:

Patrice Mason, 36, of St. Johnsbury – Charged with accessory aiding in the commission of a felony and negligent storage of firearms resulting in serious bodily injury. She is held on $10,000 bail at the Northeast Correctional Complex.

Jonathan Russell, 45, of St. Johnsbury – Charged with accessory after the fact. He is held on $1,000 bail at the Northeast Correctional Complex.

Tisa Russell, 45, of St. Johnsbury – Charged with accessory after the fact. She was released on a citation.

William Drew, 44, of St. Johnsbury – Charged with accessory after the fact. He was released on a citation.

Amber Labrecque, 35, of St. Johnsbury – Charged with accessory after the fact. She was released on a citation, with her arraignment scheduled for February 10.

The suspects, except for Labrecque, are scheduled to appear for arraignment on January 21, 2025, in the Criminal Division of Vermont Superior Court in St. Johnsbury. Labrecque’s arraignment will take place in February.

The investigation into the shooting and Mason’s escape continues, and Vermont State Police are urging anyone with additional information to come forward.
