Timothy Baker, a Farmville resident, has been sentenced to 20 to 25 years in state prison after being found guilty of second-degree murder for the 2022 killing of Jaquan Davis.
Baker, 28, was convicted for shooting and killing 21-year-old Jaquan Davis of Greenville. The fatal shooting occurred on May 25, 2022, outside Mozingo’s Corner Stop on Stantonsburg Road. Davis was shot multiple times and later died from his injuries at ECU Health Medical Center.
Baker’s trial began earlier this week and culminated in today’s guilty verdict. Superior Court Judge Andrew Womble handed down the 20-25 year sentence, with Baker receiving credit for the two-and-a-half years he spent in the county jail awaiting trial.
This sentence brings closure to a case that has impacted the Pitt County community, with local residents reflecting on the tragic loss of Jaquan Davis.
