Fake Inspector Sanjeev Arrested for ₹15 Lakh Scam in Kanpur

In a shocking revelation, Kanpur police have arrested a man identified as Sanjeev for impersonating a police inspector to swindle individuals out of their money. Sanjeev lived a lavish lifestyle, complete with a police uniform, fake ID, and even a rubber stamp.

The elaborate scam came to light when a victim, Chandreshwar Singh, filed a complaint alleging that Sanjeev had duped him of Rs15 lakh. Sanjeev had convinced Singh that he was a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) in need of money for a land registry.

Upon realizing he had been cheated, Singh approached the Kalyanpur police station to report the fraud. During the investigation, police confirmed that Sanjeev had no official affiliation with the police department. The arrest has shed light on the extent of the impersonation scheme and the lengths to which Sanjeev went to carry it out.
