Faizan Shaikh Arrested for Road Rage Murder of IT Professional Shivkumar Sharma in Navi Mumbai

The Navi Mumbai Crime Branch Unit-3 successfully arrested Faizan Shaikh (22), the primary accused in the road rage killing of 45-year-old IT professional Shivkumar Sharma in Kharghar. The incident occurred on February 2, when Sharma, while returning home on his bike, was confronted by two men who accused him of overtaking their bike dangerously.

During a heated argument, Faizan Shaikh, the rider, repeatedly struck Sharma on the head, leading to severe internal injuries. Sharma managed to reach Kharghar police station, where he collapsed shortly after filing a complaint. He was rushed to a private hospital, but unfortunately succumbed to his injuries.

Following a detailed investigation, which included scanning 350 CCTV footage across Navi Mumbai, the police arrested Shaikh from Bandra. His accomplice, Mohammad Rehan Ansari (22), was apprehended earlier on February 11. Both suspects, who worked as delivery boys for a food app, had changed jobs frequently, which initially made it difficult to locate them.

Authorities have praised the efforts of their informants and intelligence networks for helping track down the accused, and the investigation into the incident continues.
