Faisal Arrested in MDMA Seizure Case After Hiding in Himachal Pradesh

Faisal (44), a Mattancherry native, was arrested on Thursday after being on the run in connection with a significant MDMA seizure in Angamaly, Kerala. Faisal was the prime accused in the case where 201 grams of MDMA were confiscated from a tourist bus in May 2024.

According to the police, Faisal had been hiding in Himachal Pradesh after the incident. Despite a police team being sent to Himachal Pradesh to locate him, Faisal evaded capture until he returned to Kerala, where he was finally arrested.

Faisal, along with his accomplice Vibin, had smuggled the drugs from Bengaluru after procuring them from a Nigerian national, Rengnard Paul (alias Captain, alias Cook). Faisal, who had invested in the drug trade, played a key role in the operation.

Police had earlier arrested Vibin and Rengnard Paul, who had entered India on a student visa and was overstaying after its expiration. The investigation continues as authorities work to uncover the full scope of this international drug smuggling operation.
