In a gripping testimony, the youngest brother of Andre Zachary Rebelo took the stand in his brother’s murder trial, describing the moment he found their mother, Colleen Rebelo, deceased in the shower.
Andre Zachary Rebelo is accused of murdering their mother for her life insurance, a charge he denies. Colleen, 58, was discovered at their Bicton home in Perth’s southwest on May 25, 2020.
Fabian Rebelo recounted how he arrived home to find the shower running and his mother unresponsive. After failing to get a response, he entered the bathroom and saw her slumped against the shower wall.
“I called out to her and didn’t hear anything, so I opened the door and went in,” he stated. Recognizing her dire condition, he immediately called emergency services and began CPR.
Fabian described the distressing scene, revealing he had to pull his mother from the shower and move her to the bathroom floor. His testimony paints a heartbreaking picture of a family tragedy unfolding.
