Ex-Teacher Myra Flores-Harmon Charged in $28K Embezzlement Case

Former Lone Star School teacher Myra Flores-Harmon has been charged with felony embezzlement after allegedly stealing nearly $30,000 from school fundraising accounts, including donations meant for a teacher battling cancer.

How the Fraud Was Discovered
In November 2023, Sapulpa Police responded to a fraud report at the school after officials noticed discrepancies in the Booster Club account, where Harmon served as treasurer.

Harmon reported a balance of $7,500, but the actual amount was only $44.54.
She allegedly wrote 35 unauthorized checks to her husband for personal expenses.
She used the account to make personal PayPal transactions.
10 checks totaling $5,723 were made out to “cash” between May 2020 and October 2024.
She allegedly stole funds meant for a teacher’s cancer treatment.
Charges & Arrest
Harmon was charged with:
✅ Felony embezzlement
✅ Misdemeanor unauthorized use of a credit card

She was booked into Creek County Jail on Wednesday but has since bonded out.

School’s Response
Lone Star School terminated Harmon and immediately notified law enforcement once the financial discrepancies were discovered. In a letter to parents, school officials reassured the community that they are committed to preventing similar incidents in the future.

The case remains under investigation as authorities work to recover the stolen funds.
