Ex-Joburg Mayor Kabelo Gwamanda in Court Over Fraud Charges

Former Johannesburg Mayor Kabelo Gwamanda is scheduled to appear in the Protea Magistrate’s Court this morning to face charges of fraud. Gwamanda, who served as the executive mayor of the city, is accused of defrauding Soweto residents through a deceptive funeral policy scheme.

The charges stem from allegations that Gwamanda and his associates orchestrated the fraudulent scheme, misleading residents into paying for non-existent funeral policies. He now faces serious charges as authorities investigate the full extent of the scam.
