Ex-Employee Sujitha Lambture Arrested for ₹35.88 Lakh Fraud

The Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC) police have arrested 38-year-old Sujitha Lambture for allegedly defrauding her former employer, an e-commerce company, out of Rs35.88 lakh. Lambture, who worked as an executive assistant from September 2017 to September 2022, was implicated in the fraud during a routine audit following her resignation.

Residing in Worli, Lambture reportedly created and submitted fake bills using the logos of hotels and restaurants to claim reimbursements during her tenure at the company. The deception came to light when an employee discovered forged documents on the laptop issued to her by the office.

Investigators found various restaurant logos in the Recycle Bin of her laptop, indicating that Lambture submitted fraudulent expenses for services she never utilized. This led to an FIR being filed against her for cheating and criminal breach of trust.

Lambture was arrested on October 25 and has since been remanded to judicial custody as the investigation continues.
