Ex-El Paso County Deputy Arrested in Texas on Human Trafficking Charge

EL PASO COUNTY, Colo. (KKTV) — Ivan Sundheim, a 63-year-old former deputy with the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office (EPSO), has been arrested in Spring, Texas, on a felony charge of human trafficking for involuntary servitude.

Sundheim, who served with EPSO from March 1993 until his retirement in April 2013, was arrested Thursday and is currently being held without bond. The alleged human trafficking incident occurred during his time with the sheriff’s office, and the allegations were reported to EPSO in May 2024.

Following an investigation, an arrest warrant was issued for Sundheim on Thursday. The EPSO has stated that this is an active investigation, and no further comments will be provided at this time regarding the details of the case or the allegations.
