Ex-Charleston Officer Andrew Rowell Arrested for Cocaine Possession

Drugs found in his mailbox and inside his police car

Mount Pleasant, S.C. – A former Charleston County police officer, Andrew Hoyt Rowell IV, was arrested after investigators discovered cocaine in his police car and in a package mistakenly delivered to his neighbor’s mailbox.

The case unfolded when a neighbor unknowingly opened the package and found suspicious bags containing white powder. Upon testing, it was confirmed to be cocaine.

Further searches of Rowell’s police car revealed additional drug-filled bags, similar to those in the misdelivered package.

Authorities are continuing their investigation, and Rowell faces multiple drug-related charges.
