Evansville Street Racing Investigation: Lorenzo McRath Arrested

Evansville police have arrested 29-year-old Lorenzo McRath of Henderson in connection with a street racing investigation. McRath was booked into the Vanderburgh County Jail on Monday night.

The investigation stems from a crash that occurred in October on Riverside Drive, which was previously reported. McRath and another man, Raveion Quarles, were allegedly driving two of the cars involved in the incident.

According to police, Quarles attempted to avoid a collision but struck one of the passengers who was attempting to move their vehicle. The two men, who had reportedly left local bars, were speeding between 60 to 80 miles per hour when the crash occurred.

The injured passenger was severely hurt, requiring them to relearn basic skills such as walking and talking.

Both McRath and Quarles face multiple charges related to the crash but have since been released from jail. Authorities have issued warrants for the remaining drivers involved in the incident, Taron Coats and James Ramos.
