SHALER (KDKA) — U.S. Marshals have apprehended Eugene Jones, the man accused of fatally shooting Andre Wallace, whose body was discovered over a hillside in Shaler last month.
According to authorities, surveillance footage and witness statements led investigators directly to Jones. He is charged with shooting Wallace in the head on Christmas Day near the 2400 block of Chauncey Drive in Pittsburgh’s Hill District.
Investigators determined from the footage that Wallace was shot while seated as a passenger in a van, allegedly during an attempted drug transaction. The criminal complaint reveals that the van’s driver, in a panic, later disposed of Wallace’s body by dumping it over a hillside on Hahn Road in Shaler, where it was discovered the following day by a woman walking in the area.
A debit card found in Wallace’s coat pocket led police to key witnesses, including the van driver, who was not involved in the shooting. The driver handed over Wallace’s cell phone, which led authorities to Jones.
Jones now faces charges of homicide and attempted homicide in connection with the van’s driver.
