Etawah Police Seize 112kg Ganja, Arrest Sonu Chauhan & Others

In a significant crackdown on drug smuggling, the Etawah Police seized over a quintal of ganja, valued at approximately Rs 25 lakh, and arrested three traffickers. The operation was conducted during routine vehicle checks at the Pattapura Aayara culvert under the Basrehar police station’s jurisdiction.

Etawah Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Sanjay Kumar Verma confirmed that the police flagged down a suspicious truck during their security checks. When officers signaled the truck to stop, two individuals attempted to flee but were quickly apprehended by the police.

Upon searching the vehicle, authorities discovered 112.360 kg of ganja hidden in five plastic bags, confirming that the truck was involved in illegal drug trafficking. The three individuals arrested in connection with the bust were identified as Sonu Chauhan, Tej Pratap Singh Chauhan (alias Ashish Chauhan), and Ranjeet Singh.
