Erode Police Arrest Two for Selling Fake Sikkim Lottery Tickets

In a significant crackdown on lottery fraud, the Erode district police arrested P. Madhan (60) from K.N. Palayam and K. Chandran (50) from Sathyamangalam on Sunday for selling counterfeit Sikkim State lottery tickets.

The two suspects were apprehended during a routine surveillance operation conducted by the Bungalowpudur police in K.N. Palayam. The counterfeit lottery tickets in their possession were designed to closely resemble genuine tickets from the Sikkim State lottery, tricking buyers into believing they had a legitimate chance at winning.

The arrests have highlighted the growing issue of fraudulent lottery schemes in the region, where unsuspecting individuals are often duped into purchasing fake tickets. Authorities are continuing to investigate the matter and warn the public to stay vigilant when participating in lottery schemes.

The police have urged citizens to verify the authenticity of lottery tickets before making any purchases and report any suspicious activities to law enforcement immediately.
