CALHOUN COUNTY, S.C. – A late-night traffic stop on November 24 led to the arrest of 33-year-old Erion Derrell Harris for drug trafficking in Calhoun County. Sheriff Summers confirmed Harris was taken into custody after deputies discovered multiple illegal substances during the stop.
Harris was pulled over just after midnight at the intersection of Caw Caw Highway and Stabler Farm Road due to defective vehicle equipment. K9 Ace, assisting deputies in the search, alerted officers to the presence of drugs in the vehicle. Upon inspection, deputies seized 10 grams of methamphetamine, 3.5 grams of heroin, and 3.4 grams of cocaine.
Harris now faces multiple charges, including trafficking methamphetamine and possession with intent to distribute heroin and cocaine. A $450,000 cash bond was set during his bond hearing.
Sheriff Summers praised his deputies for their diligence, stating, “Our team remains committed to combating drug crime in the county and keeping our citizens safe.”
