Emiliya Radford Sentenced to 16 Years for $300K Fraud Scheme
Emiliya Radford, the former office manager of Smith Spinal Care Center in Warner Robins, Georgia, has been sentenced to 16 years in prison after being convicted of bank fraud, wire fraud, and federal program theft. Radford, who had siphoned nearly $300,000 from the clinic’s funds—including COVID-19 relief money intended to support small businesses—was ordered to pay back the full amount.
Radford initially worked with the clinic through her marketing company, Cyber Pinecone, before assuming the role of office manager. While overseeing clinic operations, she secretly wrote and endorsed unauthorized checks to herself, under the pretense of overtime, raises, and payments to her company. None of these payments were approved by Dr. JC Smith, the clinic’s owner.
During her sentencing, Radford expressed remorse, acknowledging her abuse of trust. However, prosecutors highlighted the severe financial hardship experienced by the Smith family, as their clinic was ultimately forced to shut down due to Radford’s fraudulent actions.
Radford was also ordered to forfeit her home and contribute half of the repayment from her company’s finances.
