Emerado Man Sentenced to Four Years for Attempted Murder and Other Charges

GRAND FORKS, N.D. (KVRR) — Alexander Stewart, a man from Emerado, North Dakota, has been sentenced after pleading guilty to charges including attempted murder.

In a Grand Forks courtroom, Stewart was sentenced to four years in prison. He was arrested in September 2023 for allegedly attacking a woman, during which he dragged, choked, and threatened to kill her.

In addition to attempted murder, Stewart pleaded guilty to charges of domestic violence, terrorizing, felonious restraint, and driving under suspension.

Along with his prison sentence, Stewart was given three years of probation. He has been ordered to avoid contact with the victim and is prohibited from coming within 100 yards of her home.
