Elmira Woman, Britney Adams, Arrested for Assaulting Deputy in Southport

SOUTHPORT, N.Y. (WETM) — Britney Adams, 33, of Elmira, was arrested on Wednesday, Nov. 20, after a violent confrontation with law enforcement in Southport. According to the Chemung County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a report of an individual attempting to break into The Glove House by kicking in its door. Upon arrival, Adams was found at the scene and attempted to resist arrest.

During the arrest, Adams allegedly punched a deputy in the face and bit another, leading to multiple charges, including second-degree assault (a Class D felony), obstruction of governmental administration, resisting arrest, second-degree harassment, and trespassing.

Adams was processed at the Town of Southport Court before being transported to the Chemung County Jail.
