Eladio Cordero Lara Arrested for Illicit Contact with Minor

PORTERVILLE, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – On Monday morning, law enforcement arrested 22-year-old Eladio Cordero Lara at his home in Bakersfield following an investigation into his illicit online activity involving a minor. The arrest took place at around 6:45 a.m. on the 600 Block of L Street, executed jointly by detectives from the Porterville Police Department and officers from the Bakersfield Police Department.

Lara is charged with multiple offenses, including contacting a minor for sexual purposes, sending harmful material to seduce a minor, and possession of child sexual abuse material. Authorities say the investigation revealed that he had been sending inappropriate and harmful messages to a minor, prompting the issuance of a search and arrest warrant.

Following his arrest, Lara was booked at the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office South County Detention Facility. He is being held on a $95,000 bail. The case underscores ongoing efforts by law enforcement to protect minors from online predators.
