A 42-year-old man, Ean Busby, was arrested in Bloomington, Indiana, for allegedly setting fire to a Narcan box designed to provide medication to reverse opioid overdoses. The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office reported Thursday that Busby could face a felony arson charge after the incident outside Stride, a Monroe County crisis diversion center located at 312 N. Morton St. in downtown Bloomington.
Busby reportedly set fire to the Narcan box after being denied entry to Stride, a center aimed at helping individuals in crisis. According to authorities, he had placed a “Slow” sign in an alley before lighting the fire. Fortunately, the damage to the box was minimal.
While online court records did not show a formal case for Busby regarding the arson as of Thursday night, they indicated that he is facing other charges, including trespassing, intimidation, and theft. Busby was booked into the Monroe County Correctional Center, where he is being held on charges of arson, a level 4 felony.
