Ipswich, UK – Twenty-one-year-old Dylan Zdrenka has been sentenced to three years in prison after being caught in possession of cocaine with intent to supply. Zdrenka, from Meadow Drive in Great Blakenham, was stopped by police on Tacket Street in Ipswich, where he was found with 59 wraps of cocaine, a mobile phone containing drug-related messages, and £280 in cash.

Zdrenka was arrested alongside 22-year-old Joseph Dobbins, who received a suspended sentence. Both men admitted to possession of cocaine with intent to supply. In addition to the cocaine charges, Zdrenka also pleaded guilty to possessing criminal property.

During sentencing, Judge Nicola Talbot-Hadley acknowledged that there may have been an element of coercion, with the defendants possibly being influenced by individuals with greater criminal experience.

Zdrenka’s defense lawyer, Steven Dyble, highlighted that Zdrenka was only 16 and 17 years old when he committed three earlier drug supply offenses, arguing that it would be unfair to impose the statutory minimum seven-year sentence for a young man who had shown some remorse.

Despite these factors, Judge Talbot-Hadley sentenced Zdrenka to three years in jail, taking into account his previous offenses and the seriousness of the crime.

The case highlights ongoing efforts by law enforcement in Ipswich to target drug dealing and reduce the impact of illegal substances in local communities.
