Dylan Ray Sade Arrested for Burglary and Vehicle Theft in Lauderdale County

Lauderdale County, MS — Dylan Ray Sade, 23, of Norman, Oklahoma, has been arrested on two felony charges after being caught on camera during a house burglary earlier this month. The Meridian Police Department charged Sade with motor vehicle theft following an incident on January 6.

According to Lauderdale County Chief Deputy Ward Calhoun, Sade allegedly stole a vehicle from a Wal-Mart parking lot on Highway 19 North and drove it to a local gas station, where he and his companion, Chester Raymond Dickerson-Kanary, 59, allegedly left without paying. A citizen, who witnessed the theft, followed the pair into Alabama before losing track of them. Later, the stolen vehicle was involved in a crash in Livingston, Alabama.

Sade and Dickerson-Kanary, both detained by the Livingston Police Department, were linked to the burglary after the stolen vehicle was found containing evidence. Investigators also recognized Sade from surveillance footage related to the burglary. Sade faces charges for both burglary and motor vehicle theft, while Dickerson-Kanary is charged with accessory after the fact.

Sade’s bond has been set at $50,000 for the motor vehicle theft and $25,000 for the burglary, while Dickerson-Kanary’s bond is $40,000. As the investigation continues, more charges could be forthcoming.

Authorities praised the teamwork between law enforcement agencies and the community for solving the case, emphasizing the importance of sharing information to solve and prevent crimes.
