DSS Arrests Sylvester Augustus for Fake Recruitment Notice

Operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) have successfully arrested 32-year-old Sylvester Victor Augustus, a blogger from Abak Local Government Area in Akwa-Ibom State, for creating and posting a fake recruitment notice on a cloned version of the DSS website.

Augustus, who claims to be a graduate of the University of Uyo (UNIUYO), was tracked down to his residence on Akpan Eno Lane in Abak, Akwa-Ibom, where he was arrested on Thursday. According to reliable sources, the suspect, who is also a content creator, used his skills to manipulate the DSS website to mislead Nigerians.

The fake recruitment notice posted by Augustus created confusion among the public, as many believed that the DSS was conducting a legitimate recruitment drive. However, the agency swiftly denied the notice, warning the public to remain vigilant against such fraudulent announcements.

DSS operatives have now apprehended Augustus, and he will soon be arraigned in court for his actions. The incident serves as a stark reminder of the growing issue of online fraud, especially concerning fake recruitment schemes. Authorities continue to urge the public to be cautious and only trust official government sources for recruitment information.
