DSP and Inspector Arrested for Rs16 Lakh Bribe in Nalgonda

The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) Nalgonda Unit has arrested Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) K. Parthasarathi and Inspector P. Veera Raghavaulu from Suryapet district for allegedly soliciting a bribe of Rs16 lakh.

According to an ACB statement, the two officers initially demanded a bribe of Rs25 lakh, but after negotiations, the amount was reduced to Rs16 lakh. The bribe was reportedly sought in exchange for issuing a notice instead of making an arrest in a case registered at the Suryapet II Town Police Station. Additionally, the officers promised to allow the complainant’s scanning centre to operate without interference.

The ACB has charged the officers with abuse of official position and conducting their duties in an improper and dishonest manner, violating anti-corruption laws.

After their arrests, the two accused were presented before the II Additional Judge for SPE and ACB cases in Nampally, Hyderabad. The investigation is still ongoing.
