Drug Peddler Dipak Panika Arrested in Banderdewa, Narcotics Seized

As part of its ongoing anti-drug initiative, ‘Operation Dawn 2.0’, the police arrested a drug peddler, Dipak Panika, in Banderdewa on Thursday. The authorities seized 3 vials containing a total of 4.44 grams of narcotic substances from his possession.

Sub-inspector Sudhir Kumar Singh, who led the operation at the Banderdewa police station, confirmed the arrest. According to Naharlagun SP Mihin Gambo, Panika was apprehended as part of the authorities’ crackdown on illegal drug trafficking. The accused now faces charges under Section 21(a) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.

The arrest of Panika comes as part of the broader ‘Operation Dawn 2.0’ campaign, which aims to curb the growing issue of narcotics in the region and combat drug-related offenses.
