On October 10, detectives from the Moore County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant in the 800 block of South Mechanic Street in Southern Pines. During the operation, they seized suspected cocaine, marijuana, oxycodone, hydrocodone, various drug paraphernalia, and $461 in cash, according to Sheriff Ronnie Fields.
Caramella Ross, 43, of Southern Pines, was arrested and faces multiple charges, including trafficking in cocaine by possession, possession with intent to sell and deliver cocaine, felony possession of cocaine, maintaining a vehicle or dwelling for a controlled substance, simple possession of schedule II and VI controlled substances, and possession of drug paraphernalia. She received a $30,000 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in Moore County district court on October 23.
Naji Jackson, 23, also of Southern Pines, was arrested on charges of simple possession of a schedule VI controlled substance and possession of marijuana paraphernalia. Jackson is currently on a 48-hour hold due to new legislation (HB813) that took effect in 2023, with his court date also set for October 23.
All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
