Dover Police Arrest Two on Drug Dealing Charges After Traffic Stop

The Dover Police Department has arrested two individuals on drug dealing charges following a traffic stop on Friday afternoon. Jaimere Harrison, 24, of Dover, and Kemya Dennis, 21, of Georgetown, were taken into custody after officers stopped their vehicle on State Route 1 near Dover Air Force Base as part of an ongoing drug investigation.

At approximately 4:03 p.m., officers from the Dover Police Department’s Drug, Vice, and Organized Crime Unit, along with the Street Crimes Unit, initiated the stop. Upon identifying Dennis as the driver and Harrison as the passenger, police say Harrison attempted to flee by starting the vehicle and pressing the gas pedal while reaching over the center console. Officers deployed a tire deflation device, disabling the vehicle, and both suspects were arrested.

A subsequent search of the vehicle uncovered 1,315.7 grams of cocaine, along with suspected drug proceeds. Harrison and Dennis were transported to the Dover Police Department, where they were processed and arraigned.

Harrison was charged with multiple offenses, including possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance in a Tier 3 quantity, possession of a controlled substance in a Tier 3 quantity, resisting arrest, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution (SCI) on $103,000 cash bail.

Dennis faces charges of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance in a Tier 3 quantity, possession of a controlled substance in a Tier 3 quantity, possession of drug paraphernalia, and driving at an unsafe speed. She was released on $41,500 unsecured bail.

Both suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
