RANDOLPH COUNTY, N.C. – A man has been arrested and charged with multiple counts of child sexual exploitation following an investigation initiated by a CyberTip.
According to the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office, members of the Invictus Task Force launched an investigation in May 2025 after receiving a CyberTip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC). The tip indicated potential involvement in the sexual exploitation of minors.
Through investigative efforts, Douglas Arthur Daugherty II was identified as a suspect.
On May 30, 2025, a search warrant was executed at Daugherty’s residence. As a result, he was taken into custody and charged with five counts of Second-Degree Sexual Exploitation of a Minor.
Daugherty was booked at the Randolph County Detention Center, where a magistrate issued a $350,000 secured bond. His first court appearance was scheduled for June 2, 2025, in Randolph County District Court.
Authorities say the investigation remains active and ongoing. Anyone with information related to the case is encouraged to contact the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office or representatives of the Invictus Task Force.
No further details about the nature of the evidence or materials involved have been released at this time.
