Donta Jackson Jr. Arrested in Seymour Motel Robbery Case

SEYMOUR — Seymour police arrested 18-year-old Donta Jackson Jr. from Indianapolis on Thursday in connection with a robbery that took place at Motel 6 on November 7, 2024. The arrest follows a two-month investigation into the armed robbery.

According to Lieutenant C.J. Foster with the Seymour Police Department, the incident occurred just after 11 p.m. on November 7 when two suspects arrived at the motel, located at 365 Tanger Blvd. They pretended to purchase watches but fled with them instead.

As the suspects ran off, one of the victims chased them. During the pursuit, one of the suspects fell, but when the victim caught up, the suspect pulled a firearm. The victim retreated, and the suspect fled the scene.

Donta Jackson Jr. was apprehended on Thursday, booked into the Jackson County Jail, and held without bond pending an initial hearing. The investigation is ongoing as police continue to piece together details of the crime.
