Millbrook Police Arrest 20-Year-Old for Burglary and Theft
On Friday, October 25, 2024, Millbrook police responded to a burglary in progress on Tiny Town Drive. The homeowner reported returning to find an unknown individual inside their residence. The suspect, later identified as 20-year-old Montgomery resident Donald Nobles, was detained by officers without incident.
A detective from the Criminal Investigations Unit processed the scene and collected evidence. Following the investigation, Nobles was arrested and charged with Third-Degree Burglary and Fourth-Degree Theft of Property. He was later transported to Elmore County Jail, where he was held on a $21,000 bond.
In a peculiar turn of events, the suspect allegedly forced entry into the home and helped himself to the homeowner’s groceries, as well as using the bathroom and laundry facilities. While Nobles has multiple addresses in the area, it remains unclear whether he is homeless.
The homeowner acted swiftly and responsibly by contacting the police instead of confronting the intruder, allowing officers to safely arrest Nobles. This incident highlights the importance of exercising caution in such situations.
Regardless of the circumstances, breaking into someone’s home and taking their belongings is never the right course of action. Assistance is available for individuals in need, and it would have been a better option for Nobles to seek help rather than committing a crime. The situation could have escalated had the homeowner not made the wise decision to involve law enforcement.
