Domingus Nobrega Charged with Murder in Portland Homicide

PORTLAND, Maine (WGME) — A Portland man, Domingus Nobrega, has been charged with murder in connection to the death of 43-year-old Matthew Merrick over the weekend.

On Saturday, Portland police responded to a report of a dead man at an apartment on 24 Marshall Street. Upon arrival, authorities found Merrick’s body inside the apartment.

An autopsy performed at the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Augusta confirmed that Merrick’s death was ruled a homicide, though the exact cause of death has not yet been disclosed.

Following an investigation, police arrested Nobrega, 48, at the Scarborough Walmart on Tuesday and charged him with murder. He is currently being held without bail at the Cumberland County Jail.
