Doda Police Solve Theft Case, Arrest Thief and Recover Stolen Electronics

DODA, Jan 2 — Doda police have successfully solved a theft case involving the stolen mobile phones and electronic gadgets from a shop in Gandoh. The thief was arrested within hours of the crime.

The theft was reported by Mohd Asif, a resident of Rajpura in Tehsil Gandoh, whose shop located at Bhargi Morh, Gandoh, was targeted. The stolen items included mobile phones, power banks, and other electronic gadgets. Asif filed a complaint at the Police Station Gandoh on January 2, prompting an immediate investigation.

An FIR (First Information Report) was registered under case number 01/2025 at Police Station Gandoh. Following the complaint, a special police team led by Dy.SP Raj Kumar Koul, SDPO Gandoh, and Inspector Shahnawaz Giri was formed under the guidance of SSP Doda, Sandeep Mehta.

During the investigation, several suspects were questioned, and three individuals—Mohd Aslam, Yasir Hussain, and Mohd Shamim—confessed to their involvement in the theft. Their disclosures led to the recovery of the stolen items, which included:

13 mobile phones
12 chargers
2 torches
2 power banks
2 trimmers
The investigation is still ongoing, and further updates are expected.
