Djalma Johan Gordon Arrested in Louisiana for Sarasota Homicide

WEST BATON ROUGE, LA — Djalma Johan Gordon, 41, was arrested early Wednesday morning following a traffic stop in West Baton Rouge Parish, Louisiana, in connection with a homicide investigation in Sarasota, Florida.

The arrest comes after Sarasota Police Department officers responded to a welfare check at a home in the 2200 block of Ringling Blvd. on Tuesday evening. Upon arrival, authorities found the woman deceased, and investigators determined she had been the victim of “homicidal violence.”

Detectives identified a person of interest, and through further investigation, tracked Gordon to Louisiana, where he was apprehended. The Sarasota Police Department clarified that they do not believe the crime was random and assured the public there is no ongoing threat.

The identity of the woman has not been released, and police have not provided additional details about the circumstances surrounding her death. Authorities are continuing to investigate the case.
