IMMOKALEE, Florida — A routine traffic stop in Immokalee led to the arrest of Divi Batista, 44, on drug trafficking charges after deputies discovered a variety of controlled substances. On Tuesday night, Batista was stopped by deputies for riding her bike without a rear red light.
During the stop, she voluntarily revealed a used crack pipe from her shoulder bag, prompting deputies to conduct a search. The search resulted in the discovery of methamphetamine, cocaine, crack cocaine, and 8.1 grams of hydrocodone, a trafficking amount.
Batista, who was already out on bond for unrelated charges, was arrested and charged with trafficking a controlled substance, possession of methamphetamine, cocaine, and crack cocaine.
Sheriff Kevin Rambosk praised the deputies for their vigilance in removing harmful narcotics from the community, stating, “This individual is back in our custody where she belongs.”
