Dillon Jayce Welch Faces Charges for Stolen Bank Card and Drug Offenses

ROCKINGHAM — Dillon Jayce Welch, 31, is facing multiple charges after allegedly using a stolen bank card to purchase gasoline. According to arrest records, Welch stole a Truist debit card from a woman on or around November 11, 2024, and used it for unauthorized purchases.

The arrest warrant for Welch was issued on December 12, 2024, charging him with financial card theft, obtaining property by false pretenses, and possession of stolen property. Welch was arrested on January 17, 2025, and is currently held in the Richmond County Jail on a combined $45,500 secured bond.

Additional Charges and Court Dates

In addition to the financial card theft charges, Welch faces charges stemming from drug-related offenses. He is still facing charges from previous arrests, including possession of methamphetamine, possession of a Schedule II controlled substance, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Welch also failed to appear in court on a misdemeanor larceny charge, which resulted in an additional order for his arrest.

Welch’s court appearances include a scheduled date for the financial card charges on January 30, 2025, a court date for the drug charges on February 3, 2025, and a hearing for the misdemeanor larceny charge on February 7, 2025.

Criminal History and Previous Convictions

Welch has a lengthy criminal history, with prior convictions dating back to 2010. He has been convicted of crimes such as larceny, breaking and entering, drug possession, and even possessing a weapon while incarcerated. His previous sentences have included probation revocations, multiple prison terms, and various charges related to theft and property crimes.
