A multiagency drug task force has arrested a Marengo County man on methamphetamine trafficking charges.
Devante Lewis (32), of Sweet Water, was taken into custody on March 10 as part of an ongoing investigation led by the 4th Judicial Circuit Drug Task Force, the 17th Judicial Circuit Drug Task Force, and the United States Postal Service.
During the operation, authorities seized approximately 10 pounds of crystal methamphetamine.
Officials say additional arrests may follow as the investigation continues.
“Authorities extend their gratitude to all participating agencies for their dedicated efforts in combating drug trafficking and enhancing public safety by removing illegal substances from the streets,” the press release stated.
No further details have been released at this time.
