Destiny Trujillo Arrested for Second-Degree Murder in Pueblo

The Pueblo Police Department (PPD) has arrested 24-year-old Destiny Trujillo for second-degree murder in connection with a double shooting that occurred in December. On Thursday, December 26, 2024, at approximately 2 a.m., officers responded to the 1100 block of Egan Avenue near Santa Fe Avenue on reports of a shooting.

Upon arrival, police found a conscious man with a gunshot wound, while another victim, identified as David Trujillo, was declared dead at the scene.

The investigation was taken over by the PPD’s Crimes Against Persons Unit and Crime Scene Investigations. After thorough investigation, on Thursday, January 30, 2025, Destiny Trujillo was arrested and booked into the Pueblo County Detention Center on second-degree murder charges for the death of David Trujillo.

David Trujillo’s death marked Pueblo’s 20th homicide of 2024, a tragic milestone for the city.
