Derrick Cotchery, An’tinet Collins, and Randall Wright Arrested in Major Jefferson County Drug Bust

JEFFERSON COUNTY, Ala. (WBMA) — A major narcotics operation in the Forestdale area of Jefferson County led to the arrest of three suspects and the seizure of large quantities of illegal drugs, firearms, and a stolen motorcycle.

On March 5, 2025, the Shelby County Drug Enforcement Task Force, in collaboration with the Jefferson County SWAT team, executed a search warrant following a long-running investigation that began in Shelby County last year.

According to the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office, authorities confiscated one pound of crack cocaine, 5.64 grams of cocaine, 20.06 grams of liquid fentanyl, 47 grams of methamphetamine, 8.8 grams of powdered fentanyl, 57 grams of marijuana, and 4.34 grams of hydrocodone. During the operation, officers discovered an infant in close proximity to the narcotics, prompting immediate intervention to ensure the child’s safety.

Three individuals—Derrick Cotchery, An’tinet Collins, and Randall Wright—were taken into custody and charged with multiple offenses. Cotchery and Collins face charges including drug trafficking, chemical endangerment of a child, unlawful possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, unlawful possession of marijuana in the second degree, and receiving stolen property in the first degree.

Wright has been charged with drug trafficking, unlawful possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, and unlawful possession of marijuana in the second degree.

All three suspects are being held on a $3 million bond as the investigation continues.
