Derick Proctor Charged with Manslaughter in Fatal Fentanyl Overdose

Marbury, Md. – Charles County Sheriff’s detectives from the Narcotics Enforcement Section have arrested Derick Szero Proctor, 40, of Pomfret, in connection with the December 12, 2022, death of George Liddle Jr., 20, who tragically died from a fentanyl overdose.

Following the overdose, detectives launched an investigation and identified Proctor as the individual responsible for supplying the fatal fentanyl. The case was brought before a Charles County Grand Jury, which indicted Proctor on manslaughter charges.

In addition to the manslaughter charge, Proctor faces charges of possession with the intent to distribute drugs. He was arrested on October 6 and is currently being held at the Charles County Detention Center without bond. The investigation into the incident is still ongoing.
