Denver Officer Zurisadai Beltran Rodriguez Arrested for Insurance Fraud

Denver, CO – On Wednesday, the Denver Police Department announced the arrest of Officer Zurisadai Beltran Rodriguez, 24, in connection with an insurance fraud scheme involving a false stolen car report.

According to court records, Beltran Rodriguez allegedly reported her car as stolen after two acquaintances, who had borrowed her car after dropping her at a bar, crashed it and fled the scene in April 2022. Rather than reporting the incident as a hit-and-run, Beltran Rodriguez reportedly called police dispatch, claiming her vehicle had been stolen, enabling her to file an insurance claim. This fraudulent claim resulted in an insurance payout of $30,074.71.

Beltran Rodriguez joined the Denver Police Department in May 2023, approximately one year after the incident. However, the scheme came to light when an ex-boyfriend reported the fraud to investigators. Using cell phone tower data, investigators found that Beltran Rodriguez was near the downtown Denver bar when she reported her car stolen, contradicting her claim that she discovered the theft near her home, seven miles away.

After her arrest, Beltran Rodriguez was booked into Denver’s jail and has since bonded out.
