Dennis Wright Jr. Arrested for Possession of Firearm and Fentanyl

Craven County authorities arrested Dennis Michael Wright Jr., 58, on February 18, 2025, following an operation aimed at locating a firearm used in a crime. Wright, a resident of Lawrence Drive in the Turkey Quarter Community of Cove City, was identified as the individual in possession of the weapon.

During a search of Wright’s residence, authorities recovered the firearm, along with a small quantity of fentanyl and drug paraphernalia. Wright was arrested and charged with:

Possession of a Firearm by a Felon
Felony Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Substance (Fentanyl)
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
Wright was booked into the Craven County Detention Center on a $100,000 secured bond. He made his first court appearance on February 19, 2025, at the Craven County Courthouse.
