Delhi Police have arrested Sher Singh, 45, and his nephew Harish Singh, 24, in connection with the abduction and murder of Rajan Lamba, a 69-year-old businessman from Bawana. The police have stated that the crime was the result of a financial dispute between the two parties.
The accused had purchased a plastic moulding dye machine from Lamba on instalments but resorted to murder after failing to pay the full amount. According to Sanjay Bhatia, Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime), the accused abducted and killed Lamba when their financial obligations were unmet.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime), Sanjay Kumar Sain, shared that Lamba’s son, Vivin, reported his father missing on December 2. The police investigation revealed that Lamba was last seen with Sher Singh and Harish Singh. Through technical surveillance, authorities tracked the suspects to Sher Singh’s factory in the Bawana Industrial Area, where they broke open a locked door and discovered Lamba’s semi-decomposed body inside a plastic bag.
The arrests followed a thorough investigation, and an ongoing probe will further address the crime.
