Delhi Police have arrested Ajay Babu Lal, a 63-year-old drug trafficker, and seized Rs 12 lakh worth of contraband in a major operation. The police recovered 1,200 grams of charas (cannabis resin) and 9 grams of heroin from Lal’s possession.
The arrest was made on August 29 by a team from the Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) of the Crime Branch. The police had set up a trap near Vikas Marg, close to the Laxmi Nagar Metro Station, after receiving information about the drug trade in the area.
Ajay Babu Lal was apprehended while in possession of the drugs, and authorities are investigating further to identify any potential accomplices in this drug trafficking network.
