Delhi Man Arrested for Stealing Rs5.5 Lakh from Wedding Funds

The Delhi Police arrested a 27-year-old man for stealing Rs5.5 lakh from a house in the Bharat Nagar area of north-west Delhi. The robbery occurred when the accused, identified as Arun, took cash and valuables meant for a wedding, which had to be cancelled due to the theft.

According to Deputy Commissioner of Police (Northwest) Abhishek Dhania, the arrest was made in Wazirpur. Arun, a habitual offender, was apprehended after a complaint was filed on November 26. The complainant, who runs a nursery, had saved Rs5.5 lakh and bought clothes for his sister’s wedding in Uttar Pradesh.

The theft took place at around 4:30 am when the complainant briefly left his bag unattended while taking a bath.
